The present device relates to a deterrent device to deter birds from landing or nesting within a region. The device comprises a base 14, an upstanding vertical post 1 and at least one horizontally extending arm 3. The at least one arm supports a hanging decoy and are arranged to rotate with respect to the base. The device may have more than one arm, the arms may be of differing lengths. The movement of the arms may be automatic, follow a routine or be powered. The arms may be pivotable or articulated axially with respect to the vertical post or may be constructed of a resiliently deformable material. The decoy may have the appearance of a bird of prey; the wings of the decoy may be hinged to allow movement of said wings. The power to move the arms may be provided by a sustainable source. The base of the device may be provided with a tiltable mechanism to allow fitting of the device to sloped surfaces. |
