A vehicle control device, wherein: when it is determined that friction fastening elements (32, 33, 34) have not fastened in response to a fasten instruction, a target line pressure is calculated on the basis of an instructed torque capacity of the friction fastening elements (32, 33, 34) and a belt capacity calculated on the basis of input torque from a continuously variable transmission (20); when the calculated target line pressure is higher than an upper limit line pressure, a torque down amount in a drive source (1) is calculated on the basis of the upper limit line pressure; when it is determined that the friction fastening elements (32, 33, 34) have not fastened, a limit torque capacity of the friction fastening elements (32, 33, 34) is calculated on the basis of the input torque and a belt capacity calculated on the basis of the actual line pressure; and when it is determined that the friction fastening elements (32, 33, 34) have not fastened, slippage between pulleys (21, 22) and a power transmission member (23) is suppressed on the basis of the target line pressure, the torque down amount, and the limit torque capacity. |
