PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink jet ink which can realize dual objectives of inhibiting intermittent ink discharge defects due to decapping and of achieving a high drying rate and can bestow high image qualities such as the absence of patches, etc. and frictional passage resistance even onto non-water-absorbent recording media, let alone water-absorbent recording media represented by papers.SOLUTION: The aqueous ink jet ink comprises: a pigment; a polymer dispersant; a water-soluble acrylic resin with a weight-average molecular weight of 7,000-20,000 neutralized with an amine having a boiling point of below 200°C and internalized at a ratio of 3 mass% or above and 6 mass% or below with respect to the total mass of the aqueous ink jet ink; and at least one type of water-soluble organic solvent selected from the group consisting of glycol ethers and 1,2-alkanediols having at least 4 carbon atoms; is used for printing a non-water-absorbent recording medium being heated at 35-60°C; has an ink viscosity of 5-20 mPa s at 25°C; and is thickened after having been printed onto the recording medium. |
