PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-phase electric motor that uses high magnetic energy permanent magnets and has low detent torque.SOLUTION: An electric motor comprises: a rotor 2 having N pairs of poles; and a stator portion 1 having teeth 11 to 16 extending radially from an annular gear 10. The teeth have windings 41 to 43 and ends thereof comprise a circular arc 17. A middle point of circular arc 17 is located on a radius R1 and two sides 18 and 19 define an angle α, a vertex of the angle α is located on a radius R2. Ratio R2/R1 is substantially equal to (1±0.26/N), and the angle α is in a range of 110° to 135°.
