The invention relates to a cutoff chamber of a medium-voltage or high-voltage current cutoff appliance, consisting of an enclosure comprising a tight cutoff bulb containing a fluid that has a boiling temperature which is higher than 90°C at atmospheric pressure and a melting temperature which is lower than -5°C at atmospheric pressure, the rest of the enclosure containing at least one insulating gas with a low environmental impact.
