The document has a set of sheets connected with a book cover, which has an outer side comprising personal information (8a-8e, 9c) that is inserted by a contact-less marking procedure. The personal information is present in the form of alphanumeric characters, bar codes, pattern, microprint and/or pictures. The book cover has a layer absorbing laser radiation, where the personal information is inserted in the layer by exposure of the laser radiation. Front and rear sides (2a, 2b) of the cover are provided with a part of the information.
