PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disinfectant or antimicrobial agent exhibiting activities to a wide range of microorganisms, preferably nono-envelope virus such as polio for immediate effectively disinfection of a surface and a skin substantially without leaving survival.SOLUTION: There is provided a composition containing a monovalent low molecular weight alcohol of 45 to 65 mass% and at least one phosphonate compound of 0.05 to 0.5 mass% and having pH 3 to 10. The phosphonate compound includes for example dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP), or 1-hydroxyethane 1,1-diphosphonic acid (HEDP). Further it is preferable to contain ethanol amine of 0.1 to 3.0 mass%. |
