A display device (100) is provided with: a sound volume information acquisition unit (120) that acquires sound volume modifying information with respect to a voice output; an alert information acquisition unit (130) that acquires alert information with respect to a user; and a display unit (140) that provides the user with an alert display on the basis of the alert information acquired by the alert information acquisition unit (130), and that modifies a display mode for a predetermined time so as to make the alert display conspicuous on the basis of the sound volume modifying information acquired by the sound volume information acquisition unit (120). The display device (100) is further provided with a drive assist information acquisition unit (150) that acquires drive assist information of a vehicle on which the display device is mounted. When a sound volume modification is made during drive assist, the display unit (140) modifies the display mode for the predetermined time so as to make the alert display conspicuous.
