a motion estimation component to receive a current image frame to be encoded; and a rolling intra (I) component to dynamically determine a configuration of a rolling I region of the current frame in response to at least one of: a global motion direction across a group of frames; a value of a Quantization Parameter (QP Value) of the current image frame, and increasing a width or height of the rolling I region in response to the QP value reaching a QP threshold value; or a complexity of the current image frame. |
