<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for non-destructive underground pipe renovation that stabilizes the natural ground in a cylindrical space between the inner wall of an excavator and the outer periphery of the underground pipe when removing the underground pipe by unit length, thereby enabling safe execution of the renovation work.SOLUTION: The non-destructive underground pipe renovation device and method use a new underground pipe 5 having the inner and outer diameters that are almost the same as the inner and outer diameters of an excavator 3 and an underground pipe recovery device 6 of which the outer diameter is smaller than the inner diameter of the excavator 3, has an excavating blade at the tip and rotated and driven by an engine 10. The underground pipe recovery device 6 is moved back and forth in the excavator 3 and the new underground pipe 5 by a pulling means, is blocked axial motions by the excavator 3 and is made to bear the rotary reaction force when recovering underground pipes. In the rear section of the underground pipe recovery device 6 is provided a chuck 17 for holding the outer periphery of an underground pipe 2, which is separated from a joint and is removed by rotating in the same direction as the underground pipe recovery device 6.</p> |
