<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device capable of preventing a bracket fixing a column jacket on a car body from rotating on the axis of a bolt connected to a tilt operation lever, when the bracket leaves the car body at the time of a secondary collision.SOLUTION: A bolt 23, which is inserted into a tilt long hole 17 formed in the side plates 15 and 16 of a stationary bracket 18, and a bolt 23, which is inserted into a hole 21 formed in the side plates 19 and 20 of a movable bracket 22, fastens the movable bracket 22 and the stationary bracket 18 by its rotating operation. When a load exceeding a predetermined value acts on a steering shaft 3, a capsule 26 departs the stationary bracket 18 from a car body 30. At the side plate 16, there is formed a protrusion 16a which is protruded in parallel with the tilt long hole 17 and from the inner wall while opposing the side plate 20 in the longitudinal direction. At the leaving time of the stationary bracket 18, the protrusion 16a abuts against an end part 20a thereby to regulate the relative rotations of the stationary bracket 22 and the movable bracket 18.</p> |
