Provided are an ultra high definition display device and a video signal conversion method. The ultra high definition display device comprises: a first input port, for inputting a first signal; a control module, for generating a first enable signal; a first receiving module, for receiving the first signal from the first input port according to the first enable signal, performing format conversion and generating a second signal, the first signal and the second signal being full high definition signals; a resolution conversion module, for performing resolution conversion on the second signal and generating a third signal, the third signal being an ultra high definition signal; and a sending module, for converting the third signal into an ultra high definition screen display signal and outputting the screen display signal. A full high definition signal can be received, and the full high definition signal can be converted, under the control of the control module, into an ultra high definition screen display signal for output.
