<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection control device facilitating the combustion of fuel in after injection, reducing smoke and enhancing the performance of a diesel engine. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel injected from an injector 40, the variation of a fuel injection rate at the injection initial stage of an after injection is set larger than a main injection. With this, the flow speed of the fuel injected from the nozzle of the injector 40 is increased, and therefore atomization of the fuel is facilitated and penetrating force of the fuel is increased. Therefore, the injected fuel does not stay near the nozzle and reaches a position distant from the nozzle. With this, spray of the injected fuel is facilitated in mixing with air and dilution is promoted. As a result, even in after injection in which ignition lag is short, the fuel is combusted promptly and uniformly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
