Disclosed is a method for cleaning a toner. The disclosed method for cleaning a toner comprises a step (S100) of removing a total volatile organic compound (VOC) from a toner particle, which the VOC is absorbed to, by cleaning the toner particle with an aqueous cleaning solution containing a polymer electrolyte. Accordingly, the invention provides a toner having a VOC content lower than 200 wtppm.
