PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents breakage of an opening/closing member.SOLUTION: A color printer includes a top face cover 30 that rotates around a spindle 55, and a contact member 50 with which the top face cover 30 is in contact at an open position. The top cover 30 and the contact member 50 are provided, respectively, with a flat plate part 43 and a lower step part 51a that are in contact with each other when the top face cover 30 is at the open position, and a right end edge 32a and an upper step part 51b that are arranged opposite to each other across a predetermined clearance when the top face cover 30 is at the open position and are in contact with each other when the top face cover 30 is in the attitude further rotated from the open position. The direction where the flat plate part 43 is in contact with the lower step part 51a is opposite to the direction where the right end edge 32a is in contact with the upper step part 51b. When the top face cover 30 is further rotated in the open direction from the above-mentioned angle, the contact member 50 is held by the flat plate part 43 of the top face cover 30 and the right end edge 32a from the direction opposite to the contact member 50 so as to suppress deformation of the top face cover 30. |
