<p>The present invention relates to a driving apparatus of an image display device which selectively drives data lines in an image display panel having a resolution of full-HD or greater to minimize a driving circuit of the image display panel and to prevent a display quality from being deteriorated, and to a driving method thereof. More specifically, the driving apparatus of an image display device comprises: an image display unit having a plurality of pixel regions and displaying an image; at least one gate driving unit for driving gate lines of the image display unit; a data driving unit for generating first and second selection signals such that neighboring data lines among the data lines of the image display unit are alternately driven by at least 1/2 horizontal period or every frame unit, and converting image data from the outside into an analog image signal to output the same; and a data switching unit for receiving the first and second selection signals via three transmission lines, respectively, at the same time, and alternately selecting the neighboring data lines according to the first and second selection signals so as to electrically connect the alternately selected neighboring data lines to an image signal output channel of the data driving unit.</p> |
