The present invention relates to an oil detecting apparatus to detect the level of oil inside a compressor, comprising: a first detection part having a first reference electrode and a first detection electrode separately arranged in both sides of the first reference electrode; and a second detection part having a second reference electrode arranged at a predetermined height from the first reference electrode and a second detection electrode separately arranged in both sides of the second reference electrode. The present invention allows a single oil detecting apparatus to detect at least two levels of oil without excessive costs. In addition to this, the oil detecting apparatus resolves a problem relating to detection errors caused by highly viscous oil staying in a space between the electrodes inside the detection parts. Therefore, the oil detecting apparatus prevents oil from staying in a space between the electrodes, thereby allowing quick responses and eliminating errors.
