1. A display apparatus for a portable terminal, comprising:
an expandable display unit; a sensing unit including a plurality of magnets and a plurality of sensors sensing at least one of the plurality of magnets to sense an area of the display unit which is hidden from view; and a controller setting pixel values of the sensed display unit; wherein the sensing unit senses the area of the display unit hidden from view by sensing a corresponding area of the display unit in which the respective sensors are arranged through flux signals that are generated as the at least one of the plurality of magnets mounted on an accommodation unit comes in contact with at least one of the sensors mounted on the display unit.
