PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermocouple capable of measuring the temperature of a workpiece at a prescribed position irrespective of the working direction of the workpiece.SOLUTION: There is provided a thermocouple 20 for measuring the temperature of a workpiece W2 at a prescribed position when the working surface of the workpiece W2 is worked in such a way that the thickness of the workpiece W2 is reduced. The thermocouple 20 comprises: an element wire extending along a direction in which the thickness of the workpiece W2 is reduced and having one end exposed from the working surface of the workpiece W2; a metal coating 23 formed so as to enclose the element wire 11 in its cross section in a direction orthogonal to the extending direction of the element wire 11; and an insulation coating 12 interposed between the element wire 11 and the metal coating 23 and electrically isolating them from each other. The element wire 11, the metal coating 23 and the insulation coating 12 are configured in such a way that their respective one ends are worked together with the working surface, and the element wire 11 and metal coating 23 are thereby electrically connected. |
