The present invention relates to an electrolyte for a high-voltage lithium secondary battery and a high-voltage lithium secondary battery containing same, and more specifically to an electrolyte for a high-voltage lithium secondary battery and a high-voltage lithium secondary battery containing same in which the electrolyte does not oxidize or decompose under high pressure when left at a high temperature, thus suppressing gas generation to prevent battery expansion, which in turn reduces the rate of increase of the thickness of the battery and imparts a superb high-temperature storage property, and additionally the present invention has an excellent low-temperature discharge property.
