An image forming apparatus (1) comprises: a transfer belt unit (71) capable of moving along the circumference of a roller rotating axis (A2) and transferring an image carried by a photoreceptor drum (40) on paper (P); a waste toner receiving container (73) for receiving deposited waste toner (72) collected from the transfer belt unit (71); and a full level detecting unit (FG) having a waste toner amount detecting unit (82), disposed inside the waste toner receiving container (73), for detecting the amount of waste toner. The full level detecting unit (FG) detects whether a full level has been reached when the full level detecting unit (FG) is in a loaded state which has been switched from a non-buried state. |
