<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well vent the air from the inside of a package when the package comprising a packed object packaged with a packing material is to be loaded, and also to prevent a swell or a curl from occurring along a periphery of a vent due to a pneumatic pressure from the vent. <P>SOLUTION: The packing material 3 includes side face cover pieces 31 for covering four circumferential side faces of the packed object 2, long side folding pieces 32 folded inward from a long side crease 31a on both front and rear faces, and short side folding pieces 33 folded inward from a short side crease 31b on both front and rear faces, and has vents 35 on the short side folding pieces. The vent is formed at such a position where the long side folding piece overlaid on the short side folding piece covers a part thereof (20-40% in area ratio for example).
