The present invention relates to a sodium secondary battery capable of being operated at low temperatures. More specifically, the sodium secondary battery in accordance with the present invention comprises: a negative electrode for containing sodium; a positive electrode containing transition metals and alkali metal halides; and a sodium ion conductive solid electrolyte placed between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, wherein the positive electrode is configured to be immersed in a molten salt electrolyte that has sodium and metal halide salts containing two or more halogens.
