METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT BASED ON FREQUENCY MODULATED CONTINUOUS WAVE RADAR

Disclosed are a surrounding environment sensing method based on a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar, and a device thereof. The method for detecting a target based on the FMCW radar comprises; a step in which the FMCW radar transmits a sensing signal to detect a target, and receives a response signal which is a response to the sensing signal; a step in which the FMWC radar produces a frequency spectrum for a bit signal by processing the response signal; a step in which the FMWC radar determines a detection frequency band to detect the target among effective frequencies of the frequency spectrum; a step in which the FMWC radar determines a threshold value to determine a target detection peak value for detecting the target among peak values of the frequency spectrum; and a step in which the FMCW radar detects the target based on the detection frequency band and the threshold value.
