A structure comprises a door, a frame for the door, and a door snubber. One of the frame and the door has an overlapping edge trim, and the other carries the snubber such that the snubber engages the edge trim when the door is closed on the frame.

1. A structure comprising:
a door; a frame for the door; and a strike plate including a body that forms a latch receptacle and a retaining housing; a door snubber including a bearing pad that is movable within the retaining housing; and a latching mechanism including a latch for engaging the strike plate when the door is closed on the frame; wherein one of the frame and the door has overlapping edge trim, and the other of the frame and the door carries the snubber; wherein the bearing pad is movable in a first direction to engage and bias the edge trim away, and the latch is moveable in a second direction to engage the strike plate to prevent the door from being opened; and wherein the first and second directions are orthogonal.
