PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: when a belt formed of a single resin layer including polyimide or polyamide-imide with high elasticity modulus is used as a transfer belt, developer particles may be plastically deformed with high pressure applied between the belt and an image carrier; the plastically deformed developer particles, which are hard to be transferred to the belt, may cause an image defect, such as hollow defect; and a surface of a multilayer belt having an elastic layer formed on a surface of a substrate and irregularities formed by adding filler cannot be cleaned efficiently by a cleaning blade.SOLUTION: A belt is formed of a single resin layer which includes a plurality of cavities. Image defects, such as hollow defect, can be prevented without reducing cleaning performance, accordingly. |
