The present invention relates to a headgear assembly for stabilizing and positioning a respiratory mask assembly on a patient's head, comprising a pair of side portions, each comprising an upper side strap and a lower side strap, at least two rear straps, one of the at least two rear straps being an upper rear strap and the other of the at least two rear straps being a lower rear strap, and an intermediate strap arrangement comprising a pair of upper intermediate straps, each having upper and lower ends, each upper end being connected to a respective upper side strap and the pair of upper intermediate straps being angled with respect to the upper rear strap and being connected at their lower ends, wherein at least one of the at least two rear straps has a curved portion with a radius of curvature in the range of 145-170 mm ± 10% or 166 mm ± 10%. |
