1. A process comprising:
contacting a) an epoxy resin; b) an adduct comprising at least one oxazolidone ring prepared from i) a multifunctional epoxy resin selected from the group consisting of phenol novolac epoxy resins, cresol-novolac epoxy resins, bisphenol-A novolac epoxy resins, epoxidized tetrafunctional phenol ethane, epoxidized cyclohexane tetraphenol, trisepoxy resins, polyfunctional epoxy resins, naphthalene epoxy resins, divinylbenzene, dicyclopentadiene-type epoxy resins, phosphorous containing epoxy resins, multi aromatic epoxy resins, and mixtures thereof, the multifunctional epoxy resin having a functionality of more than 2.1 and an EEW of from 100 to 300; ii) an isocyanate compound; and iii) a catalyst selected from the group consisting of 1,8-Diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene, 2-methyl imidazole, 2-phenyl imidazole2-PhI, phosphonium and 30 ammonium salts; and c) an unsaturated acid to form a vinyl ester. |
