The present invention relates to: a pharmaceutical composition for prevention or treatment of allergic diseases; a health functional food for prevention or improvement of allergic diseases; an external dermal agent; and a cosmetic composition, comprising Pterocarpus indicus Willd extract as an effective ingredient. The Pterocarpus indicus Willd extract according to the present invention inhibits, at a low concentration, secretion of allergy-inducing mast cells, has a good anti-allergy effect on an allergic animal model, and does not exhibit cytotoxicity, and thus can be used usefully as a pharmaceutical composition for prevention or treatment of allergic diseases; a health functional food for prevention or improvement of allergic diseases; an external dermal agent; and a cosmetic composition.
