<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor a monitoring area covering a wide range considering privacy while reducing a load of image processing.SOLUTION: An image monitoring system for monitoring a mobile object by using an image includes: a storage unit for storing a monitoring area by dividing the area into a first monitoring area and a second monitoring area; mobile object extraction means for extracting a mobile object image from the image; individual feature extraction means for extracting an individual feature capable of being used for identifying the mobile object from the mobile object image; movement feature extraction means for extracting a movement feature capable of being used for grasping a movement situation of the mobile object from the mobile object image; position calculation means for calculating an existing position of the mobile object; extraction feature selection means which makes the individual feature extraction means extract an individual feature in the case where the existing position of the mobile object is within the first monitoring area, and makes the movement feature extraction means extract a movement feature in the case where the existing position of the mobile object is within the second monitoring area; and a recording unit for recording the extracted individual feature and movement feature.</p> |
