METHOD FOR PREPARING EXTRACTS COMPRISING PETASIN FROM PETASITES JAPONICUS USING RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing extracts comprising petasin from Petasites japonicas using a response surface methodology. Ethanol extracts from Petasites japonicas obtained under the condition with 70 to 80% concentration of ethanol, speed of 170 to 180 rpm, and time of 2 to 2.5 hours for extracting contains a great quantity of petasin which is a useful and bioactive component. Therefore, the present invention can provide the new manufacturing method for effectively separating and obtaining petasin which is a bioactive substance from Petasites japonicas.
