PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste defoaming apparatus configured to optimize defoaming conditions on the basis of the amount of air bubbles contained in paste, to prevent the paste from being dried, and a defoaming method.SOLUTION: A paste defoaming apparatus 100 for a lithium secondary battery includes: a thin-film formation section 3 which pours paste for lithium secondary battery 20 onto a thin-film formation surface 12, rotates the thin-film formation surface 12 by use of a rotation mechanism 9, and forms a paste thin-film on the thin-film formation surface 12 by centrifugal force; an imaging section 4 which images the paste thin-film; a thin-film thickness measurement section 5 which measures a thickness of the paste thin-film; a container 2 including the thin-film formation surface and maintaining pressure around the paste thin-film; and a control section 1 which extracts an image of air bubbles contained in the paste on the basis of the captured paste image, to calculate the amount of air bubbles contained therein, and controls the number of rotations of the rotation mechanism and pressure in the container on the basis of the measured paste thickness and the amount of air bubbles contained therein, to defoam the paste. |
