PURPOSE: A display apparatus of a dashboard for a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to improve the visibility and the legibility of a dashboard for a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A display apparatus of a dashboard for a vehicle comprises an illumination state control part(10), a display part(40), and a control part(30). The illumination state control part comprises a dim light switch(11) for turning on and off a dim light. The display part displays driving information. The control part controls the display part according to the illumination control signals output from the illumination state control part. The control part displays the driving information through positive images or negative images.
