<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a hydroxyl number-reduced organic silicone microparticle for nonaqueous electrolyte battery separators which suppresses the reaction of electrolytic solution when used for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery separator, and which allows a nonaqueous electrolyte battery to deliver a stable performance over a long period of time; and a nonaqueous electrolyte battery separator arranged by use of such organic silicone microparticle.SOLUTION: A hydroxyl number-reduced organic silicone microparticle for nonaqueous electrolyte battery separators comprises a siloxane unit expressed by the general formula (1) below and a siloxane unit expressed by the general formula (2) below, of which the hydroxyl value is 0.5-3.0 KOH mg/g. A nonaqueous electrolyte battery separator comprises: a porous resin base layer; and a porous layer located on at least one side of the porous resin base layer and including the organic silicone microparticles.
