<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair, when a peripheral edge of an upholstery material is tightened by a tightening string, inhibiting creases and pleats from being formed as much as possible on a reverse-side covering area of the peripheral edge of the upholstery material for covering an outer peripheral edge of a reverse side of a base material, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: The chair includes an opening part 30 opened outward in the peripheral edge direction, formed at a reverse-side covering area 13b for covering the outer peripheral edge in the reverse side of a back plate at the peripheral edge of an upholstery material 13. Facing sides of the opening part 30 are mutually butted on each other, with the peripheral edge of the upholstery material 13 folded back. The tightening string passing through the peripheral edge is tightened at the reverse side of the back plate, with the outer surface of a cushion material and the peripheral edge of the back plate covered by the upholstery material 13, and the ends of the tightening string are bound to each other.</p> |
