PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music data generation device in which even a user having no knowledge about cord can simply generate cord progress information fitted to a beat of the music data to be generated, and the music data can be generated based on this cord progress information.SOLUTION: When cord progress information is generated based on a reference code chart data 100a, data from "|" to "|" shows one measure from among the reference cord chart data, and therefore, a CPU reads character string data therebetween and successively generates cord information (an occurrence timing, a cord route, and a cord type) for every measure based on the read character string data. Beat information set and stored in a RAM is used for generation of this "occurrence timing". As the beat information is not contained in the reference cord chart data 100a, the beat information is set not based on the reference cord chart data 100a. When the generation of the cord information for every measure is carried out up to the last measure, the cord progress information is generated. |
