PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection apparatus capable of detecting an inclination angle of a liquid ejection head.SOLUTION: The liquid ejection apparatus includes: conveying means for conveying a recording medium in a first direction; and a liquid ejection head in which a plurality of ejection opening arrays, each array having a plurality of ejection openings lined up in a second direction D2 intersecting with the first direction, are lined up in parallel in a third direction D3 orthogonal to the second direction D2. The apparatus records a plurality of unit patterns 20 on the recording medium. Each of the unit patterns 20 includes: a first region which is recorded on the recording medium by liquid ejected from the ejection openings of both a first ejection opening array and a second ejection opening array of the plurality of ejection opening arrays; and a second region which is recorded on the recording medium by liquid ejected from the ejection opening of one of the first ejection opening array and the second ejection opening array. The first region is recorded on the basis of dot allocation with which an optical characteristic varies in accordance with intervals of dots formed in a fourth direction orthogonal to the first direction, and a second region 22 is recorded on the basis of dot allocation with which the optical characteristic varies in accordance with intervals of dots formed in the first direction. |
