User-friendly welding helmet assembly

User-friendly welding helmet assembly configurations to be worn on the head of a weldor are disclosed. The welding helmet assembly configurations include various advanced features including a spatter shield that is easily replaceable from an external front portion of a shell of the helmet assembly configuration, and an adjustable ratchet headgear within the shell having a repositionable lever adapted to easily adjust a detent position of the ratchet headgear with respect to the shell. Other user-friendly features are also provided, in accordance with various embodiments of the present invention.

1. A re-configurable welding helmet system to be worn on a head of a weldor, said re-configurable welding helmet assembly comprising:
a common shell having a first open window at a front portion of said common shell and one or more openings on an exterior front portion of said common shell; a first front bezel having a first set of tabs and being attachable to said common shell via said one or more openings and said first set of tabs, said first front bezel further having a second open window substantially aligned with said first open window when attached; a second front bezel having a second set of tabs and being attachable to said common shell via said one or more openings and said second set of tabs, said second front bezel further having a third open window substantially aligned with said first open window when attached and a flip bezel, attached to said second front bezel, having a fourth open window, said flip bezel configured to flip upward and downward with respect to said second front bezel about a pivot axis at a top, front portion of said second front bezel; an interior lens adapted to cover said first open window at an interior front portion of said common shell, wherein said interior lens is removable from an interior of said common shell; an interior retaining mechanism adapted to retain said interior lens over said first open window in a sandwiched configuration; and a spatter shield positioned externally to said common shell proximate to said front portion of said common shell by, at least in part, one of said first or second front bezels, such that said spatter shield is easily accessible from said external front portion of said common shell for replacement.
