<p>Polychrome electrophoretic ink comprises four types of particles dispersed in a nonpolar organic medium, where each type of particle contains a color pigment having a positive or negative electrostatic filler or a nonmagnetic property so that the particle migrates, in a predetermined manner, under combined action of an electrostatic force and a magnetic return force. Independent claims are included for: (1) producing the polychrome electrophoretic ink, comprising separately synthesizing each type of particle in the nonpolar organic medium, which contains a dispersant medium of the obtained ink; and (2) a polychrome electrophoretic display device comprising the polychrome electrophoretic ink, a surface electrode, a cavity (11) comprising cells filled with the ink, where each cell is in fluidic communication with each other and defines pixels, a bottom electrode including a contact pad (22), which is connected with a transistor (32) of an integrated circuit (30) intended to control application of the electrostatic force on each pixel, and a magnetic unit for applying the magnetic return force on the particles contained in each pixel.</p> |
