HOURIGAN, [trading as LIPOMA ELECTRONICS CO.]. 17 March, 1965 [25 March, 1964], No. 11418/65. Heading H5H. [Also in Division A4] A microwave oven comprises a waveguide formed in three series-connected sections 20, 21, 22 mounted over a tunnel through which items to be cooked (potato chips) are carried on a conveyer 23. The wave-guide is connected at 15 to a klystron or magnetron generator and at 27 to a water load absorber, Fig. 5 (not shown), through a P.T.F.E. diaphragm. The lower wall of the waveguide is slotted. The ends of the tunnel are shielded by water-jackets 32, 33. Hot air is introduced into the tunnel through the waveguide to remove cooking vapour. The operating frequency is between 755 and 985 MHZ. |
