A method for preparing polyethersulfone of the present invention comprises a step of oxidizing a polyarylene ether sulfone-sulfide compound including a repeated unit represented by chemical formula 1 by an organic acid solution and a peroxide solution. According to the method for preparing polyethersulfone, all processes are operated in mild condition of lower than or equal to 190°C, and polyethersulfone can be economically manufactured without complex post-processing such as separation of reactive by-products made from a basic compound. In chemical formula 1, R_1, R_2, R_3, and R_4 are respectively and independently hydrocarbon radicals of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and a, b, c, and d are respectively and independently integers of 0 to 4. |
