PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial machine capable of calculating shift amount due to the thermal expansion of a structural member, and a shift amount calculating method.SOLUTION: An industrial machine 1 includes: a column 221 and a supporter 225 raised along a Z-axis orthogonal to a base surface 211; a slider 223 movable on a beam 222 provided between the column 221 and the supporter 225; and a ram 224 held by the slider 223 so as to move in the Z-axis direction. Physical quantity detecting means 226 (226A-226G) and 32 detect the thermal expansion corresponding physical quantity of the column 221, the supporter 225, the slider 223, and the ram 224. Shift amount calculating means 33 detects Z-axis shift amount along the Z-axis direction of the ram 224, on the basis of the detected thermal expansion corresponding physical quantity.
