A method for operating an electronic system, through adjusting power consumption of at least parts of the system, the method comprising: generating at least partially by circuitry, based on at least one time-related current curve detected within the system, a first gradient value for an electrical current value determined from the current curve detected within the system, the first gradient value being a value corresponding to a slope of the current curve detected within the system, the first gradient value indicating an increase to power consumption when the first gradient value is a positive value and indicating a decrease in power consumption when the first gradient value is a negative value; based on the first gradient value, manipulating through circuitry at least one physical parameter of the system to reduce power consumption of the system when the first gradient value is the negative value and increase power consumption of the system when the first gradient value is the positive value.
