PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an image processor for generating, by image processing, data for enabling a detect detection device to detect a defect of a detection object with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A difference arithmetic circuit (23) of an image processor calculates luminance gradient in various directions around a target pixel with a pixel representing an image of a pixel to be noticed in an image obtained by imaging an image display surface as the target pixel. The circuit selects a pixel located in a direction in which a gradient value equal to or less than a specified threshold is calculated from the viewpoint of the target pixel as a comparison object pixel, and generates data showing difference between the luminance value of the target pixel and a representative value about a luminance value of the comparison object pixel.
