<p>Disclosed is a compact earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB) and molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) including an instantaneous trip device having large breaking capacity, comprising a base including a pair of stators connected to input terminals, a pair of movers selectively electrically connected to the stators, respectively, a pair of bimetals connected to the movers, respectively, by first shunt twisted pair wires and curved according to inflow of an overcurrent, and a pair of load terminals electrically connected to bimetals, respectively, by second shunt twisted pair wires; a switching mechanism including a handle rotatably installed in the base to connect the pair of movers to the pair of stators and a trip bar positioned to be spaced apart from the pair of bimetals such that each of the bimetals comes into contact therewith in order to separate the pair of movers from the pair of stators so as to perform trip operation; a pair of fixed cores disposed in the base to surround the bimetals and forming a magnetic material by a magnetic field formed in each of the bimetals when a short-circuit current greater than an overcurrent flows; and a pair of instantaneous trip plates rotatably positioned between the bimetals and the trip bar and brought into contact with the trip bar by resultant force of a magnetic field of the bimetals before the bimetals are brought into contact with the trip bar and a magnetic field of the fixed cores induced from the bimetals to move the trip bar in a trip direction, when a short-circuit current flows.</p> |
