<p>The invention relates to a method for producing a rigid object from a powder produced from brown macroalgae treated by weak acids, said powder having a particle size of between 0 and 1.5 millimeters and a residual moisture content which is less than or equal to 45 %. According to the invention, such a method comprises a step of thermocompressing said powder in a mould, said powder being brought to a temperature of between 50 and 180°C and subjected to a pressure of between 10,000 and 100,000 bar for between 50 and 200 seconds.
