PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus capable of improving the convenience of a user.SOLUTION: An electronic apparatus of an embodiment is an electronic apparatus capable of controlling operation of an external apparatus by transmitting an operation command to the external apparatus, comprising: first communication means for transmitting a confirmation request for checking whether the external apparatus is able to handle the operation command or not to the external apparatus and for receiving a response notice from the external apparatus including information on whether the external apparatus is able to handle the operation command or not; receiving means for receiving a remote control signal from a remote controller; second communication means for transmitting an operation command corresponding to the remote control signal received by the receiving means to the external apparatus; and notification means for giving notice if information included in the response notice has not indicated that the external apparatus is able to handle the operation command corresponding to the remote control signal received by the receiving means.
