<p>The present invention relates to a display device and a method for driving the same, wherein the display device can provide images with improved display quality. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the display device comprises: an image display part; a gate driving part and a data driving part connected to the image display part; and a timing controller to control the gate driving part and the data driving part. The timing controller comprises: a stress modeling part to calculate the stress coefficient of an image signal; a template memory to store a template signal; and an image processing part to match the image signal with the template signal, to detect a matching region of the image signal, and then to compensate for the luminance of the matching region, if the stress coefficient is bigger than a threshold value. The image display part displays an image outputted from the image processing part.</p> |
