PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water supply and demand optimization system capable achieving reductions in water treatment cost and equipment cost.SOLUTION: A water supply and demand optimization system includes: a water purification plant; first and second generators; a sewage treatment plant; and a water supply and demand management server. The water purification plant purifies intake water to pure water. The first generator is disposed between the water purification plant and a water supply area, and generates electric power using a water current of the pure water supplied to the water supply area. The sewage treatment plant performs a sewage treatment on waste water used in the water supply area and then discharges the treated water. The second generator is disposed between the water supply area and the sewage treatment plant and generates electric power using a water current of the waste water fed to the sewage treatment plant. The water supply and demand management server controls the water purification plant and the sewage treatment plant so as to make a water treatment cost minimum while satisfying water demand by referring to an electricity unit cost, amounts of used electric power in the water purification plant and the sewage treatment plant, power generation amounts of the first and second generators, and water demand in the water supply area. |
