An end effector assembly (200) includes first and second jaw members (210, 220) pivotable between spaced-apart and approximated positions. The first and second jaw members (210, 220) include first and second proximal flanges (211, 221), respectively. A pivot pin (252) couples the proximal flanges (211, 221) of the jaw members (210, 220) to one another. The pivot pin (252) includes a body and a head. The body is coupled to the first proximal flange (211). The head (254) defines a first ramped surface (282) configured to slidably contact a second ramped surface (286) of the second proximal flange (221). In the spaced-apart position of the jaw members, the first and second ramped surfaces (282, 286) are oppositely disposed such that a maximum clearance is defined between the first and second proximal flanges (211, 221). In the approximated position of the jaw members (210, 220), the first and second ramped surfaces (282, 286) are similarly disposed such that a minimum clearance is defined between the first and second proximal flanges (211, 221). |
